AGDA 2010 Benchmarking Survey National Results
3rd August, 2010

AGDA has a commitment to its members and to the profession to ensure the development and growth of graphic design as a significant contributor to Australian culture, community and commerce.
Part of its charter is to demonstrate leadership by channelling the experience of individuals into a single resource for all members to access.
The findings from the 2010 AGDA Industry Benchmarking Survey add significant value to that resource by providing:
• Benchmarks in salary structures
• Salary packaging and benefit indicators for the industry
The online survey was conducted between February and April 2010. More than 600 responses were received.
A cross-section of national benchmarks are summarised here with more of the report to be released at the end of the year.
Business owners, employees and solo operators alike will benefit from the scope of this comprehensive study.
Caveat: Use of Data
Because of the relatively modest response rate achieved in some regions and among some job titles, this data should not be viewed as nationally representative statistics for all graphic design professionals. While the data does provide a current reflection of graphic design earnings, caution should be applied in the interpretation where the number of respondents was small.
